Just consider this. Keeping your body hydrated can reduce and/or eliminate common maladies which develop into disease. Proper hydration also keeps your skin clear and beautiful, your hair thick and manageable, and your figure fit and attractive.

Beverages which contain water are no substitute for pure water as they may contain dehydrating agents, act as diuretics or can be habit-forming (ie caffeine, sugar, alcohol) causing you to drink more while becoming more and more dehydrated.

How much do you need to drink?

A good rule of thumb is to divide your weight in half giving you the amount of water that your body needs per day.

For example, 130 lbs / 2 =  65 oz. If you generally drink from a 10 oz glass,  65 oz / 10 oz = 6.5, then you need to drink 6 1/2 glasses of water per day. Keep in mind that fresh fruits and vegetables supply pure water. So depending on what you’re eating for the day, adjust the number of glasses accordingly.

If you’re not used to drinking pure water, begin by drinking 1 glass

  1. upon rising each morning
  2. an hour before lunch
  3. an hour before dinner

That’s 3 glasses more than you used to drink!

This will flush your system before eating, fill your stomach reducing hunger pangs, hydrate your body with regularity, and create an easily manageable habit for you to maintain. That’s a lot of benefit from just 3 glasses of water!

As your body becomes used to the water, gradually add more throughout the day as your body requires.

It won’t take long for you to notice the change. You will both look and feel better!
