(Yemoja, Yemaya)

The orisha of motherhood, patron deity of women, and protectress of children. Her name means “mother whose children are like fish” indicative of her many, many children.

She is represented by the ocean, the number 7, and the colors blue and white. She favors flowers, perfume, jewelry, lipsticks, and mirrors. Offerings made to her are placed in little boats and cast into the sea.

Show reverence to her by offering comfort, inspiration, and care to others.
